Other concrete resurfacing contractors still only offer conventional non-flexible cement-based coatings, which are hard and brittle. As popular as they are, if the concrete substrate cracks, the coating will also crack and may chip off. All hard surfaces such as concrete and aggregate are subject to expansion and contraction. This is caused by shifting foundations, heavy trucks, temperature change and even tree roots growing under the concrete and this causes cracking.
It was this re-occurring situation that motivated Bluejet to come up with a solution. And so we set out to develop our own fully flexible cement based decorative resurfacing system, that can actually stretch and shrink as the concrete expands and contracts. They said it couldn’t be done, but they were wrong!
In 2008, after years of research and development, Bluejet released the world’s first flexible, cement based decorative concrete coating.
Even Topit Flexible isn’t perfect. The inevitable expansion and contraction of concrete may cause cracks, but it is far less prone to significant cracking and chipping than conventional, non-flexible concrete coatings. Bluejet’s flexible decorative concrete resurfacing system combines flexibility with the toughness of concrete. So now you have a choice, the conventional non-flexible coating, or Bluejet’s Topit Flexible concrete coating. You could say the difference is like chalk and cheese.
